KV62 refers to the numerical designation of the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt.  Discovered in November 1922 by British Egyptologist Howard Carter, the tomb was officially opened in February of 1923.

George Herbert, the 5th Earl of Carnavon, was the financial backer for the excavation and upon hearing of the discovery went to Egypt and was one of the first to enter the newly unsealed tomb.  His subsequent death in Cairo four months following this visit led to the popularization of a belief in a “Mummy’s Curse” which befell any who disturbed a Pharaoh’s tomb.

Rumor has it that Lord Carnavon’s dog at home in England died at the exact moment as her master in Egypt.  Her name was
Susie.
